Cybernetic Serendipity Revisited
Brent MacGregor
Professor and Vice Principal (Academic), Edinburgh College of Art, UK

Abstract
Professor Brent MacGregor, Edinburgh College of Art will present preliminary findings of his research on the landmark 1968 ICA exhibition Cybernetic Serendipity.
Was this the first computer art exhibition? How much was actually digital? What computers were actually in the exhibition? What happened when Bruce Lacey introduced his robot to Princess Margaret? What has happened to the ‘cyborg pattern classifer‘ which ‘allows people to watch their own cerebral processes‘?
