Immersive Theatre
As a new media interaction artist, Andrew specialises in creating technology to enhance live musical performance, physical theatre and interactive art installations. He seamlessly blends software engineering, sound design and digital projection to create live synesthetic audio-visual events.
While at CCS, Andrew produced his Phd thesis on Interactive Art, Immersive Technology and Live Performance, and went on to become a post-doctoral research fellow at the flagship UTS Animal Logic Academy.
As part of his PhD research, Andrew created the immersive 360 installation work Creature Interactions in collaboration with Stalker Theatre.
Andrew’s current interest in mixed reality art includes investigations into real-time augmentation of live performance in 3D, creating immersive VR/AR playspaces, adding olfactory senses to virtual reality and using machine learning for intuitive user interaction.
